How we research, write, review, and correct the guides on this site, and who is responsible for them.

Who writes and checks these pages

Tate Strickland, editor. Tate Strickland is a co-owner of BT Venture Partners, the Utah company that runs South Utah Turf, and lives in St. George. He researches and edits every page here, checks each cost, rebate rule, and city code against its original source and the installer's own numbers, and fixes errors when readers point them out.

Where the facts come from

We use primary sources: city building departments, the Utah Code, water districts, weather records, and each equipment maker's own published specs. Every fact links to its source with the month we checked it, in the list at the bottom of the page.

Prices come from two places, labeled as such: the installer's own project range, confirmed in writing and dated, and ranges published by named third parties. We never call a number an average unless we can say what it averages.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help draft and organize pages. Each page starts from a sheet of checked facts, and a person reviews every page, checks each number against its source, and edits it before it goes live. AI never writes reviews, quotes, credentials, or project details, and we don't publish AI images as real projects.

What we don't do

We don't publish reviews of our own, ratings, "best of" lists, or rankings of companies. We don't accept payment to mention a product. The installer pays us to advertise, which is why we say so on every page.

How often pages are reviewed

We review prices every quarter and permit and code facts every 6 to 12 months. The "last updated" date on a page changes only when its content changes.
